Ingredients:
Dough:
- 125g butter
- 60g icing sugar
- 8g vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
- 8g baking powder
- 1 egg
Pastry Cream:
- 500ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 16g vanilla sugar
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp flour
Decoration:
- Fresh strawberries 🍓
Meanwhile, prepare the pastry cream. In a bowl, combine the eggs, vanilla sugar, granulated sugar, and flour, then whisk until smooth. Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. Once ready, remove from the heat, cover with plastic wrap touching the surface, and let cool.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it out on a lightly floured surface. Line a large tart pan, pressing firmly on the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let it cool completely before filling.
