Garlic Bread Bliss: Perfect Soup Companion

Ingredients:

  • For the Dough:

    • 250 g flour
    • 1 tsp dry yeast
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • Warm water (as needed)
  • For the Topping:

    • 1 tbsp butter
    • 3 tbsp olive oil
    • 5 garlic cloves, finely minced
    • 2 cheese triangles
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • Grated cheese (for sprinkling)
Preparation method:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and olive oil. Gradually add lukewarm water while mixing until you achieve a smooth and elastic dough. Knead the dough for a few minutes, then cover it with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size.

Meanwhile, prepare the topping. In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat and add the peeled garlic cloves. Cook them gently until golden, then remove them from the oil and place them in a small bowl. Add the butter to the garlic cloves and mash them thoroughly with a fork until smooth. Stir in the cheese triangles and oregano, and continue mixing until you get a creamy, spreadable consistency.

Once the dough has risen and doubled in size, prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper. Place the dough directly onto the tray and drizzle a bit of the garlic-infused oil over the surface. Gently stretch the dough by hand into a rectangular or triangular shape, ensuring it is neither too thin nor too thick. Generously spread the prepared garlic and cheese mixture over the dough. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top for an extra touch of indulgence.

Transfer the bread to a preheated oven and bake until it turns golden and is perfectly cooked. This flavorful garlic bread is the perfect accompaniment to soups or any dish of your choice.
