Burger Spread Sauce:

- Ketchup
- A sprinkle of rosemary
For Topping the Buns:
- Olive oil
- Chopped parsley
- Garlic
In a bowl, mix the yeast, sugar, and lukewarm milk. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes, until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and salt. Pour the activated yeast mixture on top, along with the oil. Mix using a spoon or your hands until the dough starts to come together. Add the softened butter and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and slightly elastic.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Punch down the dough gently to release the air, then divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and slightly flatten it. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the top of each bun with milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the buns are golden. Allow them to cool slightly before slicing.
For the Filling:
Heat a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the onion with a pinch of salt until translucent. Add the chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned. Then, stir in the red and yellow bell peppers, diced into small pieces. Season with pepper, ginger, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, and a drizzle of soy sauce. Stir well to coat the chicken and bell peppers with the spices.
Add a handful of shredded cheese while the filling is still hot, stirring until the cheese melts slightly and blends into the mixture. Remove from heat and set aside.
For the Spread:
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and a pinch of rosemary. Keep this sauce ready for the final assembly.
Assembling the Stuffed Burger Buns:
Slice each bun in half horizontally. Spread a thin layer of the prepared sauce on the bottom half. Add a generous portion of the chicken, bell pepper, and cheese filling, then place a slice of cheese on top. Cover with the top half of the bun.
Brush the top of each bun with a mixture of olive oil, parsley, and garlic. Place them on a baking tray and return them to the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
Serve these stuffed burger buns warm and enjoy a delicious and satisfying treat! 🍔
