Mini Fried Chicken Buns: Bite-Sized Sandwich Delight

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 8 g baking powder
  • Warm water (as needed)

For cooking the buns:

  • 2 eggs
  • Breadcrumbs

Filling:

  • 1 large chicken breast, diced
  • 200 g mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 50 ml cooking cream
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Mustard, to taste
  • Lettuce leaves

Method of Preparation:

  1. Preparing the Dough:

    In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and baking powder. Melt the butter and add it to the dry ingredients, followed by the egg. Gradually add warm water while kneading until you achieve a soft and smooth dough. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 1 hours).

  2. Shaping the Buns:

    Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1 cm. Use a round or square cutter (according to your preference) to cut out pieces of dough. Place them on a baking sheet and let them rest again for 30 minutes to puff up slightly.

  3. Breading and Frying the Buns:

    Beat the eggs in a bowl. Dip each piece of dough into the beaten egg, then roll them in breadcrumbs to coat well. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, fry the buns until golden and crispy on both sides. Drain them on paper towels.

  4. Preparing the Filling:

    While the buns are cooling, prepare the filling. Sauté the onion in a pan with a little oil until it becomes translucent. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned. Incorporate the mushrooms, salt, pepper, ginger, paprika, garlic powder, and mustard. Cook for a few minutes, then add the cooking cream and cheddar squares. Mix well until the cheese melts and the filling is creamy.

  5. Assembly:

    After frying the buns, let them cool slightly. Then, carefully open each bun by cutting only the top portion, creating a small pocket, making sure not to cut all the way through. Fill the inside with a lettuce leaf, then generously add the creamy chicken filling. Serve warm and enjoy these delicious, crispy, and cheesy mini sandwiches!
